Clinical Haematology

From a relatively small Haematology laboratory to a composite Department of Haematology, with clinical and laboratory faculty working together under one roof for better service, resident training and research activities, we indeed have come a long way. Our mission is to provide state of the art investigative facilities for the comprehensive diagnosis of haematologic diseases and the highest quality of clinical care for our patients with the latest available therapeutic tools. Department has its own SOPs and protocols and has accreditation for the laboratory services from the National Accreditation Board for Testing Laboratories (NABL). The NABH accreditation is underway.

The department participates in and holds many Continuing Medical Education (CME) programmes and conferences.

Various research activities are currently going on, which include Thalassemia & haemoglobinopathies, haemopoietic malignancies and stem cells. The department has five faculty members, one scientist, two senior residents (DNB students) & 24 highly competent technologists to man the laboratories.
